Licensed Therapists in Ventura & Westlake Village, California
Alex Steric, LCSW
Your Therapist and Supporter
Hey there, I’m Alex, a licensed therapist, mom to two amazing girls, and someone who gets how heavy the mental load of motherhood can feel. I work with moms and high-achieving women who look like they’re holding it all together on the outside, but inside feel anxious, overstimulated, exhausted, or quietly wondering why this feels harder than they expected.
I’m certified in both Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and Brainspotting, which means I have the tools to help you work through anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, and the identity shifts that come with motherhood, relationships, and ambition. My approach is supportive, practical, and deeply compassionate. This isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about helping you feel more regulated, confident, and like yourself again.
If you’re tired of overthinking everything, carrying the emotional weight for everyone else, or feeling disconnected from who you used to be, you don’t have to navigate this alone. Therapy can be a place where you finally get to exhale.
Taniah S. Johnson
Hi, I’m Taniah. I’m an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT #155926) and a 14-year Air Force veteran who now supports women through compassionate, grounded therapy. My work is shaped by my lived experience as a single mother, co-parent, and veteran, identities that help me hold a warm, non-judgmental space for you.
My approach is relational and collaborative, rooted in helping women reconnect with their “why” and the parts of themselves that can get lost in overwhelm, identity shifts, and the invisible load of motherhood. I’m especially passionate about supporting BIPOC and military women navigating anxiety, transition, and the pressure to hold everything together.
If you’re looking for a place to exhale, be understood, and feel supported as you figure out your next chapter, I’m here.

Therapy for Women Who Feel Overwhelmed or Stuck
As moms and as therapists who have lived through our own seasons of postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, postpartum depression, overwhelm, and the pressure to “hold everything together,” we deeply understand what you’re carrying.
We know what it’s like to take care of everyone else while quietly struggling to take care of yourself. We also know how heavy the expectations can feel, both the ones others place on you and the ones you place on yourself.
You’re not alone in this, and you don’t have to keep navigating it by yourself.
Our approach to therapy brings a blend of warmth, humor, clinical expertise, and lived experience into every session.
We show up as real humans, moms who get it and therapists who know how to help you untangle the anxiety, self-doubt, and mental load that make everyday life feel so overwhelming. Healing happens best when you feel seen, understood, and supported without judgment.
That’s the kind of space we create, one filled with compassion, safety, and practical support. If you’re ready to take that brave step forward feeling better, we’d love to walk alongside you on your journey.
How We Help
Therapy with me is warm, down-to-earth, and practical. I use evidence-based approaches like:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
To help reframe negative thoughts
Brainspotting (BSP)
A powerful tool for processing trauma
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
To focus on your values and growth
Mindfulness and Nervous System Regulation
To reduce stress and anxiety
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
To strengthen relationships and emotional awareness
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel truly heard, supported, and empowered. I won’t just sit and listen, I’ll help you work through challenges, set goals, and make real progress.
